Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Translated from the Spanish, and with an Introduction, by Anthony Kerrigan. The first novel by this author, originally published in Spain in 1942. Seems to have been translated into English originally by John Marks and published by Eyre & Spottiswoode in 1946 as "Pascual Duarte's Family". This translation published by Little, Brown in 1964 and by Weidenfeld in the UK in 1965. This copy is undated, apart from the copyright of the translation of 1964, so this is often mistakenly listed as a 1964 publication which can't be true since the jacket carries the statement that the author was the winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature. He won the prize in 1989, and the dust jacket here carries a date code of 0190. A minor lean to spine, otherwise a fine copy in very near fine dust jacket. MC. Seller Inventory # 002940
