PreSchool-K-- Jim's parents have their hands full trying to get him ready for his first day of nursery school. From the moment his mother wakes him up, continuing through his breakfast and the ordeal of getting dressed in new clothes, until Dad takes him into the busy classroom, Jim steadfastly maintains that he doesn't want to go. Once there, he sits at a table and tries to ignore the activities going on around him. He can't resist for long, however, and soon joins in the fun of painting, singing, reading, dancing, counting, and playing. When his mother comes to pick him up, he leaves only when he is assured he can come back tomorrow. Exuberant, colorful illustrations portray a comfortably cluttered home and an active, exciting classroom. Facial expressions are especially expressive and add depth to the simple story line.
