About the Author:
Anthony Powell was born in 1905. He worked in a publishing house before joining the Daily Telegraph. He later became editor of Punch magazine. He is the author of the hugely successful Dance to the Music of Time sequence of novels, wich was recently made into a major television drama. He died in the Spring of 2000.
