Frede Blaabjerg's current research interests include power electronics and its applications, such as in wind turbines, PV systems, reliability, Power-2-X, power quality, and adjustable speed drives. He has published more than 900 journal papers in the fields of power electronics and its applications. He is the co-author of ten monographs and editor of twenty books in power electronics and its applications eg. the series (4 volumes) Control of Power Electronic Converters and Systems published by Academic Press/Elsevier.
Control of Power Electronic Converters and Systems, Volume 4 picks up emerging topics in the control of power electronics and converters not covered in previous volumes including emerging power converter topologies, storage systems, battery chargers and the smart transformer. The intention is also to introduce the most important controller design methods, both in analogue and digital, as applied in these systems. This volume specifically focuses on emerging power converter topologies and discusses only the very recent advances and topics with applications in power electronics and formidable probable dynamics. Chapters include modelling of power converters and their control, with supportive simulations and additional experimental results making the content useful for practitioners needing to develop better power electronic solutions for pressing needs in various industries from chargers, through battery cell balancing to modern transport supplies. All those needing fundamental knowledge regarding new trends in power electronics by application, and also ready to use models and methodologies in their design, control and testing will find this the next invaluable resource in this highly regarded series.
