Les Guerilleres is the extraordinary novel by the legendary lesbian Feminist writer, Monique Wittig, making its first appearance in English since the 1970s. It is a story of a war of the sexes, where women engage in bloody, victorious battles using knives, machine guns and rocket launchers, even inducing overawed males to join them in the a realignment of the balance between the sexes on Earth. The first and probably only epic of sex warfare, Wittig suggests an exotic barbarian beauty of the untamed female in her natural state in a surreal, Olympian story with strong overtones of Homer and Tolkein.
