About the Author
Tamasin Day-Lewis is a prize-winning documentary film-maker. She credits the original making of this book to ITV for commissioning the film of the same name. She spent much time pouring over letters, memoirs and diaries written in the Second World War and the wealth of material she found was on a scale she had never realised existed.
