Synopsis

It is Africa, 200,000 years ago.

Suth and five other children may be all that's left of their Kin - the Moonhawks. They are alone in the desert, and they must set out on a dangerous journey in search of new Good Places.

Told in four parts, this brilliant novel follows Suth, the oldest, as he leads this small group even though he is not yet a man; Noli, who can sense danger and sometimes even see the future; Ko, a young, impulsive boy determined to be a hero; and Mana, whose strong heart is always in search of peace - for the Kin and herself.

The Moonhawks face fire and flood and terrifying enemies, and their adventures are interwoven with fascinating ideas of how our long-ago ancestors may have thought, felt, wondered, and dreamed.
