Synopsis
This anthology is a collection of short stories and poems, critical articles on literature and culture, and essays on social aspects of life in the Caribbean, all of which were published in literary magazines in the 1930s. The aim has been to go back to the beginnings of West Indian literature, and to dispel the myth that West Indian writing started with Lamming, Selvon and Naipaul in the 1950s.
