Synopsis
Still struggling to come to terms with his Falklands nightmare, RAF pilot Sean Riever transfers to helicopters and heads for the remote mountains of Afghanistan. His work there with the mine-clearance teams takes him as close to the shadow of war as he wants to get.But when a British Airways passenger plane is shot down by a stinger missile over the east coast of America, the ghosts of a past conflict return to haunt him once more. About the Author
John Nichol flew for the RAF for fifteen years. On active duty in the Gulf War he was shot down with his pilot John Peters. Captured and tortured, he was paraded on television provoking world-wide condemnation of the Iraqis and leaving one of the enduring images of the conflict. He writes for various national newspapers and is a widely quoted commentator on military affairs. He has also been a consultant and presenter for Newsnight, World in Action and Cutting Edge.
