"Die Lupe" is a series of German readers, written for pupils in order to motivate and inspire them to read German books for pleasure. The series has three difficulty levels - all colour coded - with four books in each, for Key Stage 3 and 4 learners. "Being a DJ" is part of the level one series. It looks at the world of dance music and disc jockeys. The series is designed to increase pupils' confidence as they progress onto higher level books. This pack has 24 readers and 1 teacher's book, which contains two worksheets per reader.

Gwen Berwick has worked as a computer programmer; has acted as an external tutor on the York PGCE course and is a tutor on the University Languages for All programme. She is also an experienced author of German textbooks. Sydney Thorne taught French and German at Banbury School. Following four years teaching English as a Foreign Language at Augsburg University, he returned to England to become Head of Modern Languages at Danetre School, Daventry. As well as writing materials, he is a tutor on the York University Languages for All programme.
