About the Author

Gwen Berwick has worked as a computer programmer; taught German at a North Yorkshire comprehensive school; has acted as an external tutor on the York PGCE course and is a tutor on the University Languages for All programme. She is also an experienced author of German textbooks. Sydney Thorne taught French and German at Banbury School. Following four years teaching English as a Foreign Language at Augsburg University, he returned to England to become Head of Modern Languages at Danetre School, Daventry. As well as writing materials, he is a tutor on the York University Languages for All programme.
