Synopsis
"MEI Structured Mathematics Second Edition" is a series of student books that have been written to support the MEI scheme of the same name. Together, the books in the series cover all the modules in the scheme, adopting a practical, active approach designed to facilitate both independent and supported learning. "Foundations of Advanced Mathematics" covers the introductory module in OCR's MEI Structured Mathematics specification. Whist supporting this new free-standing maths qualification it is also designed to be used as an introductory unit for students wishing to go on to AS or A2 Level Maths or into Higher Education courses with an element of Maths involved. This second edition provides the mathematical content needed for advanced GNVQ units and more than covers the content requirement for the Key Skills Application of Number Level 3. How ever this book is used, it will be a valuable tool to a large variety of students. After working through the book they will not only have learnt a wide range of useful techniques but will also be able to apply them to everyday life.
