These books have evidently seen use in the field, but remain in serviceable condition: damp-stain and ripple to bottom fore-corner of first volume; earlier owner's name signed on front pastedown of second volume, and tape marks to endpapers of this book; some foxing to set's endpapers and edges, occasional fox spot elsewhere. The reference number applies to both volumes as a set. A sturdy pair of books. The dustjackets are affixed to the boards. The djs are worn, scuffed and creased. They are secure and sure. Within, Volume I is in very good condition. The pages are mild, assured, clean and clear. The page trims have some shelving marks. The illustrations are bright and vivid. Volume II (published in 1974). The covers are as with Volume I. The early and later pages have mild foxing. The pages in general are clean, clear, diligent and competent.
