Linna Funk Place, a member of the Humanities Advisory Board of the National Council on Aging, teaches history at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and is a Ph.D. candidate in American studies at the University of Kansas. Berghorn is associate professor of American studies and assistant director of the Gerontology Center, University of Kansas.
