The Doctrinal System Of St. John: Considered As Evidence For The Date Of His Gospel by John James Lias. This work examines the origin of the Gospel attributed to St. John, arguing for its authenticity and apostolic authorship rather than a second?century forgery. Lias analyzes the Fourth Gospel in comparison with the Synoptic Gospels and the Epistles, outlining a consistent doctrinal system: God as Spirit, Life, Truth, and Love; the Logos; the Incarnation; the Holy Spirit’s work; and the Resurrection and final judgment.
