The Lessons Of The Pestilence: Discourse by William Maccall. This 1849 Royston sermon examines the meaning of calamity and the Providence of God in the face of pestilence. Delivered at Royston on September 23, 1849, the discourse surveys why pestilence occurs, situates it within universal natural law rather than divine caprice, and argues that life and suffering are part of a divine life-force.
