Mrs. Forgetful hears a noise on Christmas Eve; Mr. Forgetful rushes for the stairs but forgets where they are and goes into the bathroom instead, where he realizes he forgot to finish brushing his teeth. Poor Santa has a hard time convincing the Forgetfuls who he is and what he's doing, but things go from bad to worse when Mr. Forgetful mistakes himself for Santa (don't ask), and jumps into the sleigh. "On Grumpy! On Sneezy! On Dopey! On Bashful!" he calls. Cheerful illustrations with humorous details (a shelf of self-help books on memory enhancement) enhance the text.
