Inside every dominating male is a rebellious little boy seeking to prove his autonomy from Mommy. To help women handle this emotionally armored creature, De Angelis ( How to Make Love All the Time ) offers savvy if familiar advice: Don't mother him; don't "fall in love with a man's potential"; don't act like a little girl in order to get your way, etc. However, many of the "secrets" about men that she proffers either are hardly arcane ("Men feel emotionally rejected when you reject their sexual advances") or seem debatable. This self-styled "instruction manual about men" is stuffed with exercises, quizzes, lists ("Men's Top Twenty Sexual Turn-Offs"), problems/solutions, tips, maxims and anecdotes. The book's brisk, practical approach promises more than it delivers.
