Synopsis
'It is the Italian students who have characterized the student revolution as a global confrontation. They see it as global in two aspects: geographically and ideologically, a world-wide attack on the moral values of modern society and on the corrupt and non- responsive institutions of the establishment.'Mr. Califano discusses perceptively the profound crisis of belief through which the young are now struggling. His book is a plea for recognition of that crisis by the establishment, for realization that there are legitimate student complaints about the universities and about society, for an end to the hypocrisy on both sides and to the mutual suspicion that has led students and adults to their present state of hostility.
