Synopsis
Literatur Eins, in its second Edition, offers beginning students in the German language a varied and stimulating array of traditional and modern German literature.
Beginning with two Grimm fairy tales, it proceeds through stories by Peter Bischsel, plays by Brecht, a Hörspiel by Dürrenmatt, fables and parables by Kafka, and poems by Goethe, Eichendorff, Heine, Hesse, Brecht, and Wolf Biermann to present engaging readings that are accessible to first- and second-year students. About the Author
Robert Spaethling was raised in the Bavarian town of Weissenstadt. He attended the Universities of Regensburg and Würzburg and has a Ph.D. in German from the University of California, Berkeley. He lives in Larkspur, California.
