PreSchool-Grade 3 Designed for the very young, this book would be an asset if shelved with either regular alphabet books or with sign language books. Each letter of the alphabet appears in both capital and lower case on a single page, along with a color photo of Bove showing the sign for the letter and clearly labeled photos of her signing words that begin with that letter or a sentence featuring words that begin with the letter. A colorful pastel drawing of Muppet characters dramatizing the words is also included. A good companion to the author's Sesame Street Sign Language Fun (Random House, 1980) which features beginning vocabulary in sign language and Handtalk (Four Winds, 1974; o.p.) by Remy and Mary Beth Charlip.
