The book is written solely for machines that have ten-key keyboards, although other machines are covered in "A Historical Sketch of Calculation". The primary objective of this book is to provide students with a functional knowledge of ten-key calculating machines and to help them develop the ability to solve efficiently and skillfully various types of problems involving the four arithmetic processes.
