INTRODUCTION TO PHOTOGRAPHY is a self-directed approach to introductory photography designed for those with little or no previous experience with photography. The text covers the basic skills needed to make effective black-and-white photographs and to process, print, and finish them. The text also provides a basic introduction to of color composition. Each unit has clear objectives, an overview, exercises, and lab assignments. Starting with a unit tracing the development of photography and contemporary practice, the book then moves into explaining the basics of equipment, black and white processing, printing, and finishing. After fully explaining the basics, the text moves into composition, filters, basic lighting, flash photography, and some additional advanced topics.
