Mais oui!'s success is founded on its unique guided approach that engages students in the discovery of the French language and Francophone cultures. Through its proven methodology that entails "thinking," then "observing and inferring," and finally "confirming," the program skillfully leads students to discover for themselves how the language works. Multiple layers of meaning are uncovered and, as a result, students develop critical-thinking skills that empower them to take control of their own learning. What they acquire in this manner is stored in long-term memory, moving students more rapidly through the material and facilitating faster development of proficiency. In the new Fourth Edition, the introduction of a cutting-edge interactive eBook enhances this methodology and active-learning approach. The program's content comes to life from the click of an icon on the eBook page through engaging video, audio, interactive practice, and synchronous voice chat. A balance of skill-getting and skill-using activities provides a setting that serves as a natural stage for the introduction of vocabulary, structures, cultural concepts and the practice of language functions.
