Grade 10 Up-- A book that is too confusing and too advanced for the intended audience. Wording is often so awkward that a sentence must be read more than once just to locate the verb, and readers are constantly interrupted by extraneous or unrelated information about a particular person or subject. In addition, instead of a single timeline, there is a part of one preceding each chapter. To understand how closely one event follows another, readers must flip from chapter to chapter. Archival drawings from the period are well reproduced and appropriately placed beside related text. They are clearly the best part of book.
