PreS. The author-artist team that created Twins! (2002) again celebrate something unusual. In a simple ABC picture-book rhyme, a red-haired boy and his dad, brothers, and friends kick, lick, mess, mop, zip, and zoom through the alphabet. The bright, collage illustrations show the all-male cast climbing, dancing, flying, hopping, and acting out a variety of verbs. Toddlers will enjoy pointing at the pictures, chanting the catchy text ("Q is for quacking just like a duck. / R is for riding a really big truck")^B, and mimicking the vigorous play they see on the pages. With grown-ups as guides, older preschoolers can connect the fun with the words themselves, which are presented in large, clear type. Hazel Rochman
