Synopsis
Since it was first published in 1962 `Gems', written by Robert Webster and revised in its fourth edition by Basil Anderson, has become universally recognised as the most comprehensive and authoritative treatise on gem materials in the English language.
In this fifth edition, edited by Peter Read, the forty chapters, appendices and tables have been revised by fifteen gemmologists chosen for their expertise in the relevant sections.
