Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 368pp. (yellow spine) large 8vo. sized. 1987. First edition. A rather special copy belonging to the British artist Thetis Blacker who was herself a personal friend of the composer. Flat signed in blue biro by the composer to the front endpaper. Loosely inserted are two additional cards - two other pieces of correspondence from the composer to the artist. One is flat signed by the composer in red ink (and dated 12th January 1991) - the central section typed - thanking Miss Blacker for her congratulations following his receiving of a knighthood. The other is also typed but flat signed by the composer's wife, Camilla in which she asks the artist if 'I have already sent you all this bits of paper about Andrzej's concerts.'. Included also are several loosely inserted newspaper clippings. The text supported by some photographic reproductions. Some quite notable but probably very normal age toning to the pages - the book clearly not printed on acid-free paper. A slight bump to the tail of the spine. The jacket has not been price-clipped and has a little shelf wear. A fairly unique flat-signed presentation copy. Seller Inventory # SKU009777
