About the Author

Dr. Ruth Dann focused on pupil assessment in the primary school for her Ph.D. in the late 1980s at Southampton University. Following this she taught at Highfield Primary School in Southampton before taking up a post at Keele Univeristy in 1993. She has written mainly in the field of primary assessment. She is currently the deputy editor of the journal Education 3-13.
