About the Author

Constance Classen, formerly a Reader at Center for the Study of Religion, University of Toronto, is currently an Independent Researcher in the Social Sciences and Humanities at the Research Council of Canada. She is co-author of the aclaimed Aroma: The Cultural History of Smell (Routledge, 1994) and Worlds of Sense: Exploring the Senses in History and Across Cultures (Routledge, 1993).
