In a Boston boardroom, lawyers and bankers gather to close a $840 million leveraged buyout. In the heat of the crowded agenda, no one notices that a zero has been dropped from the mortgage document. The papers are signed, the deal closes--and the fuse of a timebomb is lit. As the partners in the presiding law firm soon learn, each of them is personally liable to their client to make up the multimillion dollar shortfall. Simultaneous hardcover release from Random House. 2 cassettes.

About the Author:
Sabin Willett is a partner with the Boston law firm Bingham, Dana & Gould, and The Deal is his first novel.  He graduated from Harvard and Harvard Law School, and lives outside Boston.
From AudioFile:
Do rules matter more than truth? Willett's legal thriller plays out this intriguing question. Without commonplace graphic violence or a psychotic suspect, the story has colorful characters and comes across with great appeal on audio. Moffett puts a lot of energy into the courtroom scenes and plays out the suspense superbly. R.F.W. (c)AudioFile, Portland, Maine
