From the Inside Flap

Stifled by the torpor of colonial South Africa, and trapped in a web of reciprocal oppression, a lonely sheep farmer seeks comfort in the arms of a black concubine. But when his embittered spinster daughter Magda feels shamed, this lurch across the racial divide marks the end of a tenuous feudal peace. As she dreams madly of bloody revenge, Magda's consciousnes sstarts to drift and the line between fact and the workings of her excited imagination becomes blurred. What follows is the fable of a woman's passionate, obsessed and violent response to an Africa that will not heed her.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. A UK Ex library hardback book. This is a 1987 re-issued copy of the book that was first published in the UK in 1977. - The book itself is in good condition but, being ex-library, has a library stamp mark to the title page. It also has some tape marks, abrasions and marks to the front and rear paste downs and end papers, likely where a library pocket has been removed and where tape has been used to attach the dust jacket to the book. The page block is marked and sunned over time, with a couple of green pen marks to the top. - The dust jacket is in very good condition and has not been price clipped with a price of £9.95 net shown. It has some creases to the top and bottom, and some indentations but is otherwise complete. It is no longer stuck to the book itself. Seller Inventory # ABE-1729502855212
