Come along with Jennifer and her friends to the sea of the very best dreams, where they build a castle out of moonbeams, dance with pirates on a red-sailed brig, and count every star in the sky.
With Tom Paxton at the helm and Elizabeth Miles painting magic in the sails, this trip to dreamland is nothing short of enchanting.

In this fanciful dream adventure, Jennifer, her rabbit and a menagerie of assorted creatures frolic on "cookie-crumb sands" beside "the sea of the very best dreams." When they meet up with a gang of benevolent pirates, a moonlight sail turns into a merry dance. On the way home from their midnight escapades, Jenny and her animal companions count starswhich add up to a trillion and four. Originally written as a lullaby for his daughter by folksinger Paxton, the song makes easy transition to the picture-book format, but the unusual meter makes it difficult to read aloud. The illustrations are a blend of realism and fantasy, and set the mood for this nocturnal caper. Ages 2-6.
