About the Author

Lola M. Schaefer was a classroom teacher for 18 years, teaching kindergarten through seventh grade. She now serves as an educational consultant and works in elementary and middle schools across the United States demonstrating classroom writing lessons and working with teachers on craft mini-lessons, as well as revision and genre structures. She also provides staff development workshops and is an accomplished children's book author, with more than 220 books to her credit. Her Scholastic professional books include Teaching Narrative Writing, 10 Writing Lessons for the Overhead, and Writing Lessons for the Overhead for grades 1, 2-3, and 5 and Up. Recently Lola and her husband moved from Indiana to the mountains of north Georgia.
