Synopsis
- After four centuries of space travel, mankind had explored and colonized every inhabitable world within a radius of 400 light-years. Not a trace of any other intelligent life had ever been sighted. It seemed as if the universe belonged to us! - Thus, the sudden discovery of another, more advanced, race already busy colonizing far-off planets shook the very foundations of human superiority. - Deflated egos weren't the only problem. Man was determined to continue outward, and the aliens obstinately had the same plans. What could prevent the inevitable clash of the two stellar empires and the logical corollary, destruction of all worlds?
