Synopsis
Orphaned Janet Bewleigh became an heiress overnight, and the once-locked doors of Knight's Keep were opened to her. But the untimely death of Lord Ashford's wife hung like a shroud over the stately manor house, and even Janet's marriage to the compelling widowers could not dispel the atmosphere of doom, or her own sense of unease.
Even as Lord Ashford professed his love for Janet, she realised that it was his beautiful stepmother who truly ruled Knight's Keep... and its master. Did she rule him so strongly that she wished him to be a widower again?
