Synopsis

This new (6th) edition of Forfar and Arneil's Textbook of Paediatrics will further strengthen its established position as the standard British text covering the entire specialty of paediatrics. There are some major differences in this edition, reflecting the general changes in style and practice of clinical medicine and recent important and relevant scientific advances. In addition, the increasing importance of evidence-based practice in paediatrics is reflected in the text - all authors have focussed on the evidence base for their subject area and have highlighted areas where future work may be required to delineate the evidence base and develop clinical guidelines.
