Based on the same fundamental concepts as the first volume, Part B consists of soil pollution, air pollution, noise problems, forest management, and water management problems. For each of these issues, the book gives an overview of the problem and of the important processes, followed by a review of the models generally applied to the problem. In each case, one of the models is described in detail and a case study presented to demonstrate its applicability.
