From Library Journal

Whitcomb, author of the syndicated "Dear Meg" column, maintains that there are some things that a person can only do by writing a letter. Since she believes that many people don't know how to write a letter, she has prepared a reference book on what to include, as well as what not to include, in letters dealing with various situations. Whit comb provides a scenario that prompts each example, from friendship recon ciliation and Dear John (to end both business and personal relationships) letters to thank you and condolence notes to requests for credit, recommen dation, and complaint letters. This title does fill some of the gaps left in resume books, etiquette guides, and business correspondence books. For public li braries. Mary Ann Wasick, West Allis P.L., Wis.
