Reviews

Despite its lurid title, this book is a responsible and concerned report on the emotional and psychological effects of DI (donor insemination). The authors, both psychotherapists, summarize interviews with parents, donor offspring, and donors. Baran and Pannor deplore the secrecy imposed on users of DI and strongly recommend a more ethical and intelligent treatment of the couples and women choosing this baby-making technology. Not pretending to be a scholarly treatise, this book provides flesh and substance to technical reports on treatment of infertility. Recommended for high school, college, and public libraries.
