All four books are comprised of photographs of young children going about their daily routines, with obvious captions. The children are predominately white. With the exception of Spring Days , which has some attractive flower photography, most of the pictures are ordinary close-ups with little background diversity. A few of the pictures are amateurishly blurry. The board books by Rosemary Wells and Sandra Boynton, both of whom manage to impart a good deal of humor and whimsy to their simple subjects, are far better choices. Janet E.
