Synopsis
This book is not intended to encourage the practice of black magic. For the record, I am neither a witch nor a black magician, although I have investigated both extensively. During my researches I have been allowed to witness certain rituals and ceremonies and I have come to the conclusion that the practice of magic - black or white - is neither to be taken lightly nor to be dismissed as poppycock. Whether we believe that witches can develop second-sight and magicians raise occult powers is beside the point. What matters is that black magic is frequently and correctly associated with cruelty, torture and sexual deviations. The gullible can become the dupes of unscrupulous cliques, perhaps the victims of blackmail or even of murder. With this in mind I have tried to set down the truth about black magic, its development and its alarming expansion in Britain today.
