When the marketing of the counter-culture was hot, a "subterranean" magazine in paperback form was published by none less than Signet Books (NAL), then under the ownership of the very pro-establishement LA Tiems. The McLuhanesque format of the book reflected the turbulent 1960s and featured articles on The Black Panthers, the Vietnam War, underground comics, and the anti-Police state. This issue included articles on Allen Ginsberg, the Rolling Stones and more. Assembled by the Underground Press Syndicate Collective. Issued June of 1970.
