Synopsis
If it’s money you’re after, tracking down faces on wanted posters is not the easiest way to get it. Or the safest. But Ross Dunbar was looking for something else—revenge. The murderers of his brother and his brother’s wife and family had not been captured, and when he law gave up a the trail grew cold, Ross Dunbar took up the chase.
He never found them.
If he had, chances are good they’d be like Huett and Morse. Tough, desperate men with a knack for killing, who shoot first and don’t ask questions.
They have him trapped now because of a little act of remorse that got him involved with the wife of a man he had shot. It had only been a mission of mercy, something out of the heart for somebody else’s wife, but there’ no way he can explain that to the two men waiting for him outside the widow’s cabin.
Before all the shooting started, Ross Dunbar thought Dry Creek looked like a good place to settle down. Now if Morse and Huett have their way, he’ll be settling down in a shallow grave instead.
