Sandra Heath, the daughter of an officer in the British Royal Air Force, spent most of her early life traveling to various European posts. She now resides in Gloucester, England, with her husband and daughter.

In an effort to forestall his late father's decree that he wed a woman he has never met, Gervase Mowbray, the eighth Duke of Wroxford, heads for Italy with his jealous cousin and mistakenly ends up as a marble statue, courtesy of one of Bacchus' fauns, and is doomed to stay that way unless his fianc?e tells him she loves him of her own free will. Good historical description and a fresh, unusual plot will please readers who like their Regencies with a bit of the unexplained. Heath (Halloween Magic, LJ 8/96) is a veteran writer of Regency romances, often with a magical twist, and lives in Plano, TX.
