About the Author
The author of more than twenty romances, Patricia Rice was born in Newburgh, New York, and attended the University of Kentucky. She has two grown children, and lives with her husband of many years in Charlotte, North Carolina.

*Starred Review* Widowed Lady Leila Staines is a member of the eccentric Malcolm family, all of whom have a touch of magic, although she hasn't yet discovered her particular gift. Believing that it must be related to her passion for creating perfumes and soaps, she approaches headstrong agronomist Dunstan Ives to help her establish a flower garden. Dunstan, who has been implicated in the murder of his wife and hopes to clear his name, reluctantly accepts the position. The Malcolm women and Ives men have a long history of clashing with each other, and Leila and Dunstan follow suit until he discovers that beneath Leila's aristocratic powdered hair and tight corset is a woman after his own heart. They soon fall in love, and Dunstan helps Leila recognize the nature of her olfactory gift--she can smell people's feelings. When Dunstan tries to prove his innocence so that he and Leila can build a life together, Leila's newfound gift is put to the ultimate test.
