Ms. Towler's book is a piece of classical music—haunting, heartbreaking, resplendent. Her scenes are so clear, you can taste the pie, smell the air, and feel the summer sun on the back of your neck. Her characters are so alive they make you want to jump into the pages to help them.
Katherine Towler completed an M.A. in writing at John Hopkins and an M.A. in English Literature at Middlebury College. She has been awarded fellowships to Yaddo, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, the Bread Loaf Writers Conference, and the George Bennett Fellowship at Phillips Exeter Academy. A freelance writer, she also serves as an editor for the Mars Hill Review.
She lives in Portsmouth, New Hampshire with her husband. Snow Island is her first novel.
