This volume compiles Royal Navy dispatches and London Gazette extracts from April–September 1797, spanning European coastal waters (including the Lizard, Plymouth, Spithead), the West Indies, Jamaica, Barbados, and Atlantic approaches. It documents ongoing operations against French privateers, including dozens of lugers, brigs, and schooners, and prize-taking with lists of ships, armaments, crews, and routes.
