Works. (Author's Ed.) by John Ruskin surveys The Queen of the Air, John Ruskin's study of the Greek myths of cloud and storm. He links Athena to the cardinal virtues—Prudence, Justice, Fortitude, Temperance—and shows how myth informs art, music, governance, and education. A synthesis of literature, science, and cultural critique, it argues for disciplined labor, the ethical use of wealth, and the cultivation of character through the study of nature and myth.
