Synopsis
The primary emphasis of Volume 1 is on technical progress (i.e., the development of modelling techniques and their application to problem-solving) in eight important areas of Operations Inventory Theory, Replacement Theory, Dynamic Programming, Linear Programming, Queuing Theory, Sequencing Theory, Simulation and Gaming. For each of these areas the volume contains a chapter which evaluates these topics, surveys important applications, and discusses deficiencies and unsolved problems. In addition to these chapters dealing with technical progress, there is an article on Decision and Value Theory. A selected bibliography is appended to each chapter in the book.
